Sara Drought Nebel, poet and award winning painter, was educated at
Bennington College in Bennington, VT and Silvermine Guild School of
the Arts in New Canaan, CT and has studied with Clifford Jackson,
CharlesSovek and Ann Toulmin-Roth. Her portraits and paintings have
been shown in various galleries throughout the northeast, as scenery
for theater productions in NYC, Norwalk, CT, Westport, CT, a billboard
in Toronto, Canada, murals, illustrations in books and magazines and
backdrops for a segment on Sesame Street. Sara’s book of poetry, entitled
“Earthspirit Words: A Painter’s Pen”, Greeting Cards featuring her
paintings and poetry, original paintings, commissioned portraits and
limited edition giclee prints are available through her Studio/Gallery.
Currently, she teaches drawing and painting classes for children and
adults in portraiture, still life and landscape at her own, “just plain art”
studio near downtown, Madison. Sara has taught portraiture and floorcloth
design at The Guilford Art Center in Guilford, CT, and workshops at the

Sara’s Artist Memberships include: The Madison Art Society, The Clinton
